ANZAC in the trenches

 Hello bloggers,

In the morning I thought that it would be very boring but no it wasn't. In Waitemata and Hauraki it was full of strings and all of the teachers where dressed in black. First we where all in Manukau and we had to enter no mans land and crawl under the strings. We all had ten lives if we put our head up we would loose a life and if we lost all of them we would have to work in the orange space. But the first we got our art book a pen, pencil and ruler and we had to crawl under the trenches then we got a basic facts test and had to do in in the trenches and there was loud noises like gunfire and bombs. Then we had to give it to our teacher.

After we did ANZAC maths where we had to get into groups of three and we had an answer sheet about things like how many soldiers where sent to war and how many were killed and we had another sheet where we had to answer some questions. Then we had fruit break and had some pears in the trenches we also did some exercise. Later we did a letter from the trenches that we had to write like we are actually in the trenches and were writing to our family and then we could do some poems here is my letter:

Dear Family, I’m at war and it is very noisy here from all of the fighting and gunfire. We are all very hungry, we have to eat corned beef and dried biscuts and in the trenches there are rats almost the size of cats in the trenches. Many people are wounded and some of the soldiers have died.I hope that I survive and that I will see you all soon.

Sincerely Yours Jaycee

After that we did a picto draw where the teacher read something about ANZAC day and we had to draw it and lastly we could stand up then get into buddies and unwind the strings but when we where doing this one of us had to have a blindfold and the other person had to give instructions and after we had to swap and put the string in a pile.

I thought it was a very fun day here are some photos if you want to take a look.

Safety in the pool

 Hello bloggers!

On the 26th of February my class Waitemata went swimming in the school pool. First to get into the pool we had to fall in. Then we did an activity called whirl-pool it is an activity where you need and group of people and the need to run around in the pool. After we had to float on our back for three minutes but Miss Daly said to move our arms and legs around in circles while we were floating so we could float longer.

Next Miss Daly made us into groups by giving us numbers which where one, two, three and four and I was number two, then she called out the numbers and we had to do some tricks the first trick was where we had to go underwater and push to get to the other side and move our arms and legs around in circles while we were floating so we could float and move back .

My Picasso Self Portrait

 Hi bloggers,

Last week we made a Picasso self portrait of our self. We learnt how to do it by watching a video.

First you need some paper, colouring pencils and a pencil. First you need to draw the eyes and make it like a rugby ball then put an oval in it and a star by drawing some diagonal and straight lines. Next you need to draw the other eye like a sideways v and draw a curvy shape inside and the a oval and a tiny coloured in it. Then we drew the nose you need to draw how to draw a line on down then and on down then and Infinity loop next to it. Then draw the lips and the face shape which is like a long curvy shape around the face features. Later you can  the ear connected the face which is like a sideways m and then you could do a little sideways m too. After  you can draw a stylish hat and add some flowers or a feather and there too.You can also add some hair if you want. Then draw the neck connected to the face and then draw the body. Now you're Picasso portrait is finished. Here is the link if you would like to have a look at the video if you would like to have a look or didn't understand how I explained it.

Here is my Picasso self portrait if you would like to have a look.

Lockdown 4

 Hello bloggers,

In lockdown number four my class had to work from home. We did two slideshows they were called my  2021 lockdown diary and my lockdown creations. My favourite activity in writing was my bio poem, because you get to write about yourself.

First we had to make a new google drawing and write then once we finished we got to change the font and background colour. I felt happy while I was doing that activity. When we were doing our lockdown creations each day we were given something to do for writing and we could chose for maths and reading. We could also chose another activity to do on the syndicate site and put it on our slide show. Here is my slideshow

Lego Workshop

 Hi bloggers,

On Wednesday 18th of November, my class went to the Lego workshop in Waikowhai Primary School's hall.

There were different workshops we could go to. Claire and Vanessa showed us some of the displays they have done.

My favourite activity was when my group got to make our own spaceships I enjoyed it because there were lots of different characters that we could put on the spaceship and because there were lots of different pieces. We also got to be in buddies my buddy was Rumaisa.

Skateboarding

 Hi bloggers,

On Friday 13th of November we went skateboarding.

The teachers for skateboarding are called Ben and Lawrence.

My favourite trick in skateboarding was the willy flip. My class split in two groups. My group played what’s up wolf.

How to play it first somebody keeps on skateboarding and when that person looks back the other people behind the person have to stop if they do not stop they have to go back to the start.

I thought the game was fun because you practice your skateboarding skills. We also learn different tricks like the crab walk, we could also go on the grass if it was too hard for us on the concrete.
