ANZAC in the trenches

 Hello bloggers,

In the morning I thought that it would be very boring but no it wasn't. In Waitemata and Hauraki it was full of strings and all of the teachers where dressed in black. First we where all in Manukau and we had to enter no mans land and crawl under the strings. We all had ten lives if we put our head up we would loose a life and if we lost all of them we would have to work in the orange space. But the first we got our art book a pen, pencil and ruler and we had to crawl under the trenches then we got a basic facts test and had to do in in the trenches and there was loud noises like gunfire and bombs. Then we had to give it to our teacher.

After we did ANZAC maths where we had to get into groups of three and we had an answer sheet about things like how many soldiers where sent to war and how many were killed and we had another sheet where we had to answer some questions. Then we had fruit break and had some pears in the trenches we also did some exercise. Later we did a letter from the trenches that we had to write like we are actually in the trenches and were writing to our family and then we could do some poems here is my letter:

Dear Family, I’m at war and it is very noisy here from all of the fighting and gunfire. We are all very hungry, we have to eat corned beef and dried biscuts and in the trenches there are rats almost the size of cats in the trenches. Many people are wounded and some of the soldiers have died.I hope that I survive and that I will see you all soon.

Sincerely Yours Jaycee

After that we did a picto draw where the teacher read something about ANZAC day and we had to draw it and lastly we could stand up then get into buddies and unwind the strings but when we where doing this one of us had to have a blindfold and the other person had to give instructions and after we had to swap and put the string in a pile.

I thought it was a very fun day here are some photos if you want to take a look.

  2. Hello Jaycee,
It's great to see you blog again. By the looks of it, you had loads of fun! I wish i was there. By the way was it tricky to not touch the strings? Have good luck with next post and keep up the great work.
