STEM Week Waikowhai Student led toolkits

Hello bloggers,

On 11th of June it was STEM week and we did student led toolkits. STEM means science, technology, engineering and mathematics . There where twenty four presenters for our toolkits and twelve toolkits to go to. We where able to attend three toolkits by choosing which one we did a google form and chose which one we where going to and after once we found out which one we where going to we wrote it down and we also wrote where it was so we would remember.

The first toolkit I went to was Word Art and it was in my class Waitemata  you can add in words as many as you like. The presenters where Vivian and Hazel then add a font. you can choose what colour the words are which way they are what shape it is. You can also pick how much transparency you want for the picture the word are in. It is like making a card online.

The next toolkit that I went to was Music Lab. Music Lab was in Mokoroa. I enjoyed doing Music Lab because there where so many different activities that you could do in Music Lab. My favourite activity on Music Lab is Shared Piano because you can let other people join you in Shared Piano and make music together you can also use your typing keys to make the music. There are also other activities in Music Lab like, Kandinsky, Oscillators and Song maker.

The last toolkit I went to was Spheros, Spheros where in the hall. You can use your chromebook to control the Spheros. You can also change the colour of the light on top of the Sphero. There where also mazes that you could get the Spheros to go through. We could also make them go outside and go on the ramps. I also enjoyed using the joystick to move the Sphero.

My favourite toolkit was Music Lab because there are so many activities that you can do on it.  I think that we should do toolkits every term and next time we do toolkits I think that I would like to be a presenter.
